Comedian Samay Raina faced backlash over a statement he made on his show India’s Got Latent, leading to public outrage and debates.

Due to the controversy, Raina removed all episodes of India’s Got Latent from YouTube to mitigate further backlash.

Bigg Boss 17 winner and comedian Munawar Farooqui publicly supported Raina, stating that art cannot be suppressed and will rise despite challenges.

Comedian Bharti Singh, along with her husband Harsh Limbachiyaa, defended Raina, emphasizing that comedy is subjective and should not be censored forcefully.

– Munawar Farooqui himself faced legal trouble in 2021 after being accused of insulting religious sentiments, which led to his brief imprisonment. –

The incident has sparked discussions about the limits of free speech in Indian comedy and how comedians are increasingly facing scrutiny for their content.
